About The Position

Princeton Staffing Solutions is seeking a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) for a contract position with a Public School District in Stuart, FL. This role involves providing specialized instruction to students aged K-12 who are deaf or hard of hearing. The position requires 7.5 hour school days for 37 weeks, totaling 37.5 hours per week. The contract dates are from 09/08/2026 to 05/28/2027. The teacher will utilize various communication modes, assistive technology, and develop/adapt instructional materials to meet individual student needs and IEP goals. Collaboration with other educational professionals and advocacy for students are key components of this role. The goal is to foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment that supports students' language development, academic progress, and social-emotional growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Deaf Education or Special Education with DHH endorsement
• Valid State Teaching License with DHH credential or endorsement
• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred or required by district
• Additional requirements per state or school regulations

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialized instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing using appropriate communication modes such as American Sign Language (ASL), lip-reading, and written English.
• Utilize assistive technology (e.g., hearing aids, FM systems, captioning, visual tools) to support communication and learning.
• Develop and adapt instructional materials and curricula based on individual student needs, IEP goals, and language abilities.
• Provide direct and consultative services to students across educational environments (general education, resource, or self-contained).
• Collaborate with general education teachers, speech-language pathologists, interpreters, and other related service providers to ensure access and accommodations.
• Support students' language development, academic progress, and social-emotional growth.
• Advocate for students with hearing impairments to ensure inclusive practices and appropriate accommodations.
• Maintain documentation, progress reports, and participate in IEP meetings.
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for all students.
