Teacher of MS - After School Math Program
About The Position
South Fayette Township School District is seeking a Teacher of Middle School for an After-School Math Program for grades 6, 7 & 8. Students will be grouped according to need/ability. The program aims to provide after-school instruction to students who have not demonstrated proficiency on the Spring exam PSSA in the area of Math. The teacher will develop a plan that addresses the instructional needs of individual students in Mathematics, coordinate after-school instruction on identified Pennsylvania Academic Standards Eligible Content that has not been met, and assess students’ progress and provide appropriate documentation.
Requirements
- Valid PA Instructional Certificate Elementary Certification Mid-level Mathematics or Mathematics 7-12 and/or Special Education Certificate
- Interested in working with students who need support in meeting proficiency with Pennsylvania Academic Standards
Responsibilities
- Schedule a meeting with the Building Principal and Assistant Superintendent to determine the needs of the students.
- Develop a written instructional plan that identifies skills that will be addressed during the after-school instruction.
- Provide after-school instruction to students for 30 sessions on the identified days.
- Develop a method of communicating student academic performance to the parents.
- Assess student academic performance and maintain an assessment portfolio.
- Coordinate the appropriate instructional delivery method for tutoring, this may include virtual, brick and mortar or a blended instructional approach.
