About The Position

CATS Academy Boston is an international co-educational boarding school seeking an experienced and enthusiastic High School Mathematics teacher to teach a range of Pre-calculus, Algebra II, or Statistics courses. The candidate must be prepared to teach well-developed lessons that enthuse and inspire students and promote the enjoyment of learning. The ideal candidate will be able to appropriately differentiate learning to meet all students’ learning styles with an appreciation for learning and language differences. Full-time teachers teach a full course load (five classes and up to three preparations), serve as an advisor, and fulfill extracurricular responsibilities. They are expected to plan, prepare, and teach engaging lessons, provide educational guidance and counseling to students, and maintain a supportive environment that recognizes individual student needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Working knowledge, Bachelor's degree, or teaching experience in Mathematics
  • Citizenship, residency, or work visa required
  • Ability to teach well-developed lessons that enthuse and inspire students.
  • Ability to differentiate learning to meet all students’ learning styles.
  • Ability to provide educational guidance and general counseling in a supportive manner.

Responsibilities

  • Register student attendance and supervise student behavior.
  • Write reports on student academic and personal progress with formative comments and targets.
  • Provide assignments, grades, and feedback on assessments in a timely manner using school-designated software (Canvas).
  • Develop coursework, materials, and resources as directed by the Director of Academics.
  • Design and administer a range of lesson materials and assessments that reflect an awareness of different learning styles and language skills.
  • Safeguard the welfare of all students.
  • Adhere to standards and procedures detailed in the Faculty/Staff Handbook.
  • Attend academic, departmental, and school meetings.
  • Attend/deliver professional development sessions.
  • Attend school events to promote school spirit and support advisees.
  • Satisfy study hall duties.
  • Perform weekend duties as determined by the head of school, as needed.
  • Satisfy extracurricular responsibilities as defined by the administration.
  • Log requests for absences from work in school-designated software.
  • Participate in an annual performance evaluation process.
  • Promote a positive work experience for all Academy employees.
  • Assist in providing a professional and welcoming environment for all visitors.
  • Comply with any reasonable request from the Head to undertake other work.
