About The Position

The Non-Certified Teacher position supports the implementation of individualized instruction and creates a therapeutic, safe, and engaging learning environment for students with diverse behavioral, emotional, and academic needs. This role is crucial in providing direct care and therapeutic support to residents, assisting in the development and implementation of individualized learning plans, and gathering academic and behavioral data to monitor student progress.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions
  • Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and interdisciplinary staff
  • Basic technology proficiency including email, Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to pass required background checks, drug screening, and any state-mandated employment clearances.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain organized records.
  • Professional judgment, discretion, and ethical conduct.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and standard office technology.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
  • 1-year minimum experience in behavioral healthcare.
  • Experience working with youth in education, behavioral health, residential treatment, or special education settings
  • Experience managing challenging behaviors in structured environments
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and behavior management techniques

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care and therapeutic support to residents.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualized learning plans under the supervision of a state-certified teacher.
  • Gather and interpret academic and behavioral data to support instructional planning and student progress monitoring.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of a therapeutic, structured, and safe educational environment.
  • Assist with designing and delivering engaging, differentiated lesson plans aligned with student learning needs.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary treatment and education team meetings.
  • Complete required documentation accurately and within established timelines.
