About The Position

TEACHER - MATH - MIDDLE SCHOOL (6-8) ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Teaches district approved curriculum Creates a safe and respectful classroom environment for all learners Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional technology to engage all learners Establishes and communicates clear objectives for all lessons and units Uses a variety of formative and summative assessments Takes a trauma-sensitive approach when working with students Communicates professionally to students, parents/guardians, and colleagues Maintains accurate and complete records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations Other duties as assigned by building administrator

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in education from an accredited college or university required
Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with an EX endorsement or on an alternative path/route to obtain the required endorsement(s)
Must be highly qualified as defined by the Michigan State Dept. of Education
Experience working with at-risk youth
High degree of technology skills (Google Suite)

Nice To Haves

Experience/Coursework in MTSS and PBIS preferred, but not required
Desire to collaborate with peers and work as a team
