About The Position
St. John Regional Catholic School, located in Frederick, MD, is seeking a qualified full-time long-term English Language Arts teacher. The long-term substitute for Middle School ELA (7th and 8th grades) will be responsible for the direct supervision and instruction of students during the teacher’s six‑week absence, from April 20, 2026, through June 5, 2026. The substitute will follow the curriculum provided by the principal and will plan, organize, and implement the instructional program within a Catholic school environment, where every child is recognized as a unique child of God.
Requirements
- Degree in education preferred
- Current MSDE certification preferred
- Knowledge of child development and effective supervision
- Experience teaching in a school setting
Responsibilities
- Actively supervise students at all times.
- Respond to all parent communication in a timely manner.
- Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff, and administration.
- Oversee the instruction of students.
- Follow the daily routine of the teacher and fulfill other duties outside the classroom, such as lunch and recess duty.
- Work collaboratively with other teachers, assistants, staff, and administration.
- Interact effectively and respond to communication in a professional, empathetic, and timely manner.
