About The Position

Manage and direct the school library media center. Collaboratively deliver instruction that promotes an exemplary educational program and ensures success for all students. Create and maintain a schoolwide literacy culture.

Requirements

  • Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
  • Master's degree
  • Three (3) years of teaching experience
  • Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license
  • CDE Teacher Librarian Endorsement
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum, pedagogy, and instructional technology
  • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds

Nice To Haves

  • Five (5) years of teaching experience
  • Experience working in the public sector, specifically public education
  • Racially conscious and culturally competent with the skill, will, capacity, and knowledge to commit to a culture of continuous improvement

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with teachers from various departments and co-teach skills including but not limited to reading, research, information and media literacy, and an organized inquiry method.
  • Create a schoolwide literacy culture by promoting a variety of dynamic library programs related to reading, research, technology, etc.
  • Maintain and strategically develop an equitable library collection aligned with school goals and individual students’ interests.
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and accessible library space for the entire school community.
  • Positively impact achievement and differentiate instruction based on the needs of the students by supporting programs designed to increase student achievement.
  • Develop and maintain access to online library tools, including the Integrated Library System, academic databases and other resources, providing professional learning, direct instruction, and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Assist students, staff, and community in accessing and using the library’s resources.
  • Support and actively participate in campus, district, and other professional learning opportunities.
  • Participate collaboratively in teaching teams to design curriculum and assessments and pursue best teaching practices.
  • Actively participate in a professional learning community.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
