About The Position

The West Linn-Wilsonville School District is seeking Teacher Librarians for multiple school sites, serving primary, middle, and high school levels. This role is crucial for the 2026-2027 school year, with a start date of 8/25/2026. The Teacher Librarian will foster student development as effective users of information and ideas, manage the library to optimize learning conditions, and collaborate with staff to integrate instruction in research, technology, and digital citizenship. The position requires adherence to Oregon State Standards, modeling a growth mindset, and advocating for culturally responsive and inclusive practices. The Teacher Librarian will also facilitate the library's role as an extension of classroom instruction, work collaboratively for efficient library operations, promote literature and reading, co-plan with teachers to enhance literacy, and work with students in various group settings to improve literacy skills. Budget management, material and equipment evaluation, participation in professional development, and serving on district committees are also key aspects of this role.

Requirements

  • Oregon Teaching License with Library Media Endorsement

  • Co-planning with teachers to improve literacy in all subject areas
  • Planning and working with students in large groups, small groups, and individually to increase literacy skills in students
  • Preparing, justifying, and administering the library program budget
  • Evaluating and selecting materials and equipment according to the need of users, the existing collection, the school curriculum, and recognized standards of quality
  • Participating in professional development activities including state or national organizations
  • Serving on district committees
