Responsibilities

  • Use assessment strategies aligned with curriculum and standards to assist in continuous learner development.
  • Employ effective communication techniques with students, parents, and stakeholders.
  • Engage in planned continuous professional quality improvement for self and school.
  • Utilize appropriate techniques and strategies to promote critical, creative, and evaluative thinking in students.
  • Implement instructional strategies and materials that reflect each student's culture, learning styles, special needs, and socio-economic background.
  • Fulfill contractual obligations and adhere to the code of ethics for the education profession in Florida, enforcing all relevant regulations.
  • Apply understanding of learning and human development to create a positive learning environment supporting intellectual, personal, and social development.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the subject matter.
  • Establish a classroom management system that maintains discipline and creates a positive, engaging learning environment.
  • Plan, align, implement, and evaluate effective instruction and assessment in various learning environments.
  • Collaborate with peers, parents, community, and other stakeholders for the continuous improvement of student educational experiences.
  • Integrate appropriate technology into teaching and learning processes.
  • Complete required training and obtain endorsement for ESOL if assigned Limited English Proficient (LEP) students.
  • Maintain school records and submit required reports.
  • Account for all school property, including keys, records, reports, and personal computers.
  • Perform and promote all activities in compliance with equal employment and non-discrimination policies.
  • Ensure adherence to good safety procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the principal.
