Requirements

  • Some experience working with young children
  • Child Development Associate Teacher permit required within six months of hire
  • 12 ECE units including core courses. 6 units must be infant/toddler focus
  • California Health and Safety Certificate
  • CPR and First Aid (required within six months of hire)
  • Health screening proof of current negative TB test immunizations required by Community Care Licensing (measles, pertussis/Dtap) and current influenza shot.
  • Valid California Driver's License and proof of current automobile insurance coverage

Responsibilities

  • Providing a comprehensive educational program for children aged 0 to 3 years.
  • Creating engaging indoor and outdoor learning environments that foster physical, social, emotional, and educational growth.
  • Implementing age-appropriate curriculum aligned with Head Start's standards.
  • Actively supervising and engaging with the children, bringing energy and enthusiasm to every activity.
  • Partnering with diverse staff, children, and families.
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and Community Care Licensing requirements.
  • Contributing to a nurturing atmosphere where you and your colleagues support each other and the families we serve.
  • Maintaining punctuality and reliability to ensure a professional and effective learning environment.
