About The Position

This position is for a Kindergarten Teacher at Woodrow Wilson Elementary. The role involves planning, preparing, and delivering instructional activities to facilitate active learning experiences. The teacher will create and maintain an environment that fosters student achievement and lifelong skills, while maximizing student success through positive working relationships. Responsibilities include instructing and monitoring students, showing confidence in using technology, and acting as a role model for lifelong learning and professional behavior. The teacher must be able to work collaboratively, be flexible, resourceful, innovative, and effectively manage learning experiences responsive to student needs. They will observe and evaluate student performance, encourage progress, assign and grade work, and provide feedback. The role requires the ability to bend, twist, stoop, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds when assisting students. The teacher will assume other responsibilities as determined by their supervising administrator and conduct themselves professionally, projecting a positive image of the School District.

Requirements

Valid Michigan Teaching certificate ZA, ZC, ZE, ZG, ZN, ZO Preferred.
Minimum of a Bachelors Degree.
Must be Highly Qualified in endorsement area.
Must meet certification and endorsement requirements for assignment.
Must meet all NCA and Michigan Department of Education requirements.
Be proficient in the use of technology.

Nice To Haves

Grade level experience preferred.
Master’s degree preferred.

Assign and grade class work, homework, tests and assignments and provide appropriate feedback on work.
Bend, twist, stoop, squat and lift up to 50 pounds in assisting students.
Assume other responsibilities as determined by their supervising administrator.
Conducts himself/herself in a professional manner commensurate with his/her position and project a good public image of the School District in dealing with the community and employee groups.
