About The Position

Orchard Farm Elementary School is seeking a highly qualified, self-motivated, student-centered teacher to join our team as the Innovations/Technology Teacher (K-5)! The successful team member will have an in-depth understanding of the teaching and learning process characterized by a comprehensive repertoire of instructional and assessment strategies. Elementary Education (1-6) certification is required, additional certifications preferred. In addition, the successful candidate will have an interest in Computer Science, Google applications, app inventor software, digital design, coding, robotics, 3-D printing, digital video creation and any and all programming and curriculum related to grades K-5 computer science. The successful candidate will continue to review the current curriculum and make appropriate recommendations as needed.

Requirements

Bachelor degree or higher
Appropriate Missouri Teaching Certificate
Knowledge of state standards, federal and state regulations and law
Knowledge of subject matter content and assessment strategies
Knowledge of best practices in curriculum and instruction
Ability to relate to students, staff, and parents in a positive manner
Ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written form
Ability to follow written and oral communication
Ability to problem solve
Interest in Computer Science, Google applications, app inventor software, digital design, coding, robotics, 3-D printing, digital video creation and any and all programming and curriculum related to grades K-5 computer science

Responsibilities

Provide instruction to students
Create and implement a classroom management plan
Create lesson plans and activities to implement and supplement instruction
Participate in building, grade level and subject area committees
Participate in professional development activities
Maintain accurate student records
Complete and submit forms and required reports in a timely manner
Communicate regularly with parents regarding progress and/or other educational concerns
Participate as a member of an IEP team, 504 team or other student assistance teams as requested
Implement special educational plans such as 504 plans, individual educational programs and individual health plans
Report suspected abuse, neglect, discrimination and harassments as directed by Board policy
Prepare lesson plans for use by a substitute teacher
Subject area teachers may have additional duties and responsibilities
Review the current curriculum and make appropriate recommendations as needed
