About The Position
Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI), a division of FullBloom, provides education services for K–12 students who need additional support to succeed in traditional school settings. SESI partners with school districts to operate in-district classrooms and standalone schools serving the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of special and alternative education students. The organization serves more than 7,000 students in partnership with over 600 school districts nationwide. The Teacher in Training works with students to identify and address learning, social, and emotional skill gaps. The role collaborates with school teams and families to provide personalized guidance and deliver evidence-based instructional models and behavioral supports, including SESI’s CASE framework. Teachers work in diverse educational settings with smaller class sizes and support services designed to help students succeed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning.
- Valid teaching credential appropriate to the role.
- Commitment to learning and implementing feedback.
- Adaptability and flexibility.
Responsibilities
- Work with students from varied developmental, cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Use SESI’s instructional models, strategies, and curricula to teach knowledge and skills, build confidence and character, and meet students’ needs.
- Develop and maintain individualized, skill-appropriate lesson plans.
- Implement behavior management and intervention strategies, including de-escalation, crisis management, and physical restraint when necessary to maintain student and staff safety.
- Maintain student documents, including individualized education plans (IEPs), behavior intervention plans (BIPs), incident reports, and high-risk evaluation forms.
- Drive, record, and track student growth and progress toward academic, social, and emotional goals.
- Supervise and monitor students, including while they travel to and from locations within the school.
