About The Position

This position will serve as a classroom teacher to facilitate each child’s growth in social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development with age-appropriate activities. This position will also participate in the planning, development, and implementation of program goals.

Requirements

  • Completed 12 semester units in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, which includes at least one course in each of the following: child, family, community, and child/family relations.
  • 1 year of related experience.
  • Knowledge of child learning environments.
  • High level of professionalism, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to communicate in an articulate, professional manner while maintaining a necessary degree of confidentiality.
  • Ability to work in culturally and racially diverse populations and in lower socio-economic conditions.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and multi-task while maintaining quality standards.
  • Ability to build productive working relationships.
  • Ability to determine the course of action based on guidelines and to modify processes and methods as needed.
  • Ability to pleasantly and effectively represent the organization.
  • Must provide proof of required vaccinations by federal, state, and local funding sources.
  • Employees driving personal vehicles for El Proyecto business must provide El Proyecto proof of a valid driving license, and auto liability insurance.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • BLS/CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Create a nurturing, learning environment for children to facilitate the development of fundamental skills, including social interaction, motor skills, language, and cognitive development.
  • Assist with the development of lesson plans based on the children’s needs and interests.
  • Utilize play-based activities to teach children.
  • Assist with the assessments of individual children.
  • Participate in community outreach activities as necessary to maintain appropriate children enrollment.
  • Maintain clear communication with teaching staff regarding each child’s development and the program.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
