About The Position
Under the supervision of the Principal, the Biology Teacher is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing an appropriate biology instructional program in a learning environment that develops students’ understanding of living systems, scientific inquiry, and critical thinking while encouraging them to reach their full potential.
Requirements
- Must hold or be eligible for a Virginia teaching license with appropriate endorsement.
Responsibilities
- Instruct students according to appropriate curriculum that includes assessment and review processes.
- Plan, develop, write, and implement lesson plans in keeping with school district and state education requirements, keeping records of student achievement and tracking their abilities.
- Work in collaboration with staff and other teachers.
- Comply with and enforce school rules and school board policies and procedures.
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on committees as appropriate.
- Perform other school duties and assignments as appointed.
