About The Position

This position is for a Grade 5 Classroom Teacher at Flippen Elementary for the 2026-2027 school year. The teacher will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering engaging lesson plans and instructional materials, developing schemes of work, and creating assessments aligned with established guidelines. The role involves instructing and monitoring students, utilizing technology for differentiated instruction, managing student behavior, providing feedback on student work, and assessing student progress. The teacher will also maintain accurate records, assign and grade student work, and participate in various meetings. Other duties as assigned are also part of the role.

Requirements

Hold or be eligible for a valid Georgia Educator Certificate or meet the district's professional qualifications.
Ability to work well with students, parents, staff, and the community.
Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, excellent character, and strong professional reputation.
Must abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.
Ability to be present at the physical worksite.
Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communications are essential factors in performing required tasks.

Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessments that are in accordance with established guidelines.
Instruct and monitor students.
Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
Manage student behavior inside and outside the classroom according to established guidelines.
Provide appropriate and meaningful feedback on student work.
Observe and assess student performance and development.
Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and development.
Assign and grade classwork, homework, assessments, and assignments.
Participate in district, school, department, and parent meetings.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
