About The Position

Cleveland Elementary is seeking a Grade 4 Teacher to join their team. This is a full-time position requiring 7.5 hours per day for 183 days a year. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging instructional activities, creating a positive learning environment, and fostering student achievement. This role requires proficiency in technology, collaboration, and a commitment to lifelong learning.

Requirements

  • Valid Michigan Teaching certificate.
  • Minimum of a Bachelors Degree.
  • Must be Highly Qualified in endorsement area.
  • Must meet certification and endorsement requirements for assignment.
  • Must meet all NCA and Michigan Department of Education requirements.
  • Be proficient in the use of technology.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
  • Create and maintain an environment that fosters student achievement and the development of lifelong skills.
  • Maximize opportunities for student success by creating positive working relationships with students.
  • Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
  • Show confidence in working with new technology and various application packages.
  • Be a role model for students regarding life-long learning and professional behavior.
  • Work in a collaborative environment and be willing to learn new skills or revamp their curriculum.
  • Be flexible, resourceful, innovative and effectively manage the design and execution of learning experiences, both formal and informal, that are responsive to student needs.
  • Observe and evaluate student’s performance and development.
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students.
  • Assign and grade class work, homework, tests and assignments and provide appropriate feedback.
  • Bend, twist, stoop, squat and lift up to 50 pounds in assisting students.
  • Assume other responsibilities as determined by their supervising administrator.
  • Conducts himself/herself in a professional manner commensurate with his/her position and project a good public image of the School District in dealing with the community and employee groups.
