About The Position

This is a temporary teacher position for the 2026-2027 school year at Boones Ferry Primary School, running through the end of the school year. The role involves creating a vibrant learning community for students receiving special education support, establishing positive relationships with students, parents, and staff, and educating the whole child academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. Instruction will be flexibly provided in either the general education or special education setting based on individual student needs. The position requires planning instruction using a constructivist approach enhanced by explicit instruction techniques, utilizing a variety of assessments to understand student learning and plan next steps, and demonstrating a commitment to improving instructional practices, creating more inclusive cultures, and increasing student voice. Collaboration with general education teachers, instructional assistants, teaching specialists, administration, and parents is essential for creating and implementing cohesive individualized educational plans. The role also includes communicating progress around student learning and attending all pertinent faculty, parent, and school meetings, as well as fulfilling other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Appropriate Endorsement Required
  • Knowledge of best practices in teaching
  • Oregon teaching license in assigned area(s) and proper endorsements
