About The Position

This position is for a Classroom Teacher at Pleasant Grove Elementary for the 2026-2027 school year. The role is Exempt under FLSA and follows a 190-day Teacher Salary Schedule. The teacher will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering engaging lesson plans, developing instructional materials, and assessing student progress. The position requires managing student behavior, providing feedback, maintaining records, and participating in various meetings. The teacher must hold or be eligible for a Georgia Educator Certificate and possess strong interpersonal skills, integrity, and a commitment to confidentiality. Adherence to the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators is mandatory. The role requires regular attendance at the physical worksite and involves prolonged standing, walking, sitting, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Effective supervision of students, especially during emergencies, is crucial, along with essential communication and sensory abilities.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
  • Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessments that are in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Instruct and monitor students.
  • Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
  • Manage student behavior inside and outside the classroom according to established guidelines.
  • Provide appropriate and meaningful feedback on student work.
  • Observe and assess student performance and development.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and development.
  • Assign and grade classwork, homework, assessments, and assignments.
  • Participate in district, school, department, and parent meetings.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
