About The Position

The English Teacher provides an approved educational program and establishes a classroom environment that fosters learning and personal growth. The teacher helps students develop the skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed for a strong foundation in continued education, and maintains positive relationships with parents and other staff members. This is a 10-month position at Atlantic City High School, available January 1, 2027.

Requirements

• Hold a valid New Jersey Instructional Certificate for English K-12, or be able to obtain certification through the Limited Instructional Certification Program.
• Certificate of Eligibility holders must complete the 50-hour pre-professional experience required by the New Jersey Department of Education.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the subject specialty and effective teaching methods.
• Be able to maintain a positive learning environment.
• Have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Effectively communicate and understand job instructions verbally and in writing in English.
• Complete the required criminal history background check.
• Provide proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
• Candidates who receive a conditional offer of employment must be tested for controlled dangerous substance use, as defined in N.J.S.A. 2C:35-2.
