About The Position

This position involves teaching Physical Education at Michigamme Elementary (0.9 FTE) and Cleveland Elementary (0.1 FTE). The role requires planning, preparing, and delivering instructional activities that promote active learning and the development of lifelong skills. The teacher will create a positive learning environment, monitor student progress, and utilize technology effectively. Flexibility, innovation, and collaboration are key attributes for this role, as is the ability to adapt curriculum and learning experiences to student needs.

Requirements

Valid Michigan Teaching certificate required.
Minimum of a Bachelors Degree.
Must be Highly Qualified in endorsement area.
Must meet certification and endorsement requirements for assignment.
Must meet all NCA and Michigan Department of Education requirements.
Be proficient in the use of technology.

Nice To Haves

Elementary and/or Phys Education preferred.
Grade level experience preferred.
Master’s degree preferred.

Observe and evaluate student’s performance and development.
Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students.
Assign and grade class work, homework, tests and assignments and provide appropriate feedback on work.
Bend, twist, stoop, squat and lift up to 50 pounds in assisting students.
Assume other responsibilities as determined by their supervising administrator.
Conducts himself/herself in a professional manner commensurate with his/her position and project a good public image of the School District in dealing with the community and employee groups.
