About The Position

A full-time university staff position is available in the Teacher Education Program Office beginning in September/October 2026. The working title for this assignment is Field Placement Assistant with an official title of Administrative Assistant III. This is an expected-to-continue assignment which requires a six-month probationary period. The expected hourly hiring salary will be based on qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and maintain, in collaboration with others in the Teacher Education Program office, the comprehensive data management system for the Teacher Education Program
  • Manage, in collaboration with others in the Teacher Education Program Office, the database including data entry, document generation, and reports.
  • Develop and prepare materials, forms, lists and tools to assist with making field placements in collaboration with others in the Teacher Education Program Office.
  • Manage, enroll and troubleshoot the required supervision training for cooperating teachers in coordination with the Director of Teacher Education.
  • Collect, organize and communicate data for any required Federal or State reporting purposes.
  • Develop and maintain the Teacher Education Program master schedule.
  • Process, track and communicate all travel and travel expense reports.
  • Assist with communications to schools, cooperating teachers, principals and other community partners.
  • Assist in making placements
  • Serve as point of contact for information for students, faculty, staff, and school partners regarding the Teacher Education Program.
  • Prepare and distribute necessary forms and materials.
  • Organize events and communications for the Teacher Education Program.
  • Assist all Teacher Education Program stakeholders with communication needs including collaborations, field placements, teacher availability and critical needs areas.
  • Supervise and train student workers
  • Manage, maintain records and communicate to students and the grant coordinator regarding the Rural School Teacher Talent Grant (Rural Stipend)
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Serves as a primary point of contact for individuals and groups, provides organizational information via phone, in person, and through other communication mediums
  • Schedules logistics and secures resources for meetings, conferences, travel, and work unit operations
  • Develops, implements, and maintains methods and organizational systems directed at the maintenance of electronic/physical records related to work operations according to established policies and procedures
  • Develops, sends, receives, copies, and distributes communications to the appropriate entities according to established policies and procedures
  • Prepares and audits complex records, edits documents, and reviews work done by others
