About The Position

UCLA Extension is considered one of the top programs of its kind, offering to more than 35,000 students per year approximately 4,500 classes and non-degree certificate programs to meet the professional development, continuing education, and personal enrichment needs of the full spectrum of nontraditional students as well as companies and organizations throughout and beyond the Los Angeles region. UCLA Extension’s Teacher Education and Credential Programs provide rigorous, practice-based online learning designed to help educators strengthen instruction, meet California credential requirements, and advance their professional effectiveness in today’s classrooms. Courses are built for working teachers and emphasize immediately applicable strategies, reflective practice, and evidence-based growth. This online specialization prepares educators to effectively teach and support English learners through research-informed instructional methods, language development strategies, culturally and linguistically responsive practices, and assessment-driven planning. Candidates build capacity to design equitable learning environments and implement integrated and designated ELD approaches aligned to California expectations. UCLA Extension’s Teacher Induction program supports credentialed teachers in earning the California Clear Credential through structured professional learning, goal setting, classroom-based inquiry, and mentoring. UCLA Extension seeks experienced, equity-minded educators to teach and support candidates in state-aligned teacher education and credential programs. The Instructor delivers high-quality online instruction that strengthens pedagogical practice, accelerates teacher growth, and ensures candidates are prepared to serve diverse learners—especially English learners—while meeting California credentialing requirements.
