Within this role you will oversee early elementary (i.e. Pre-K-1st) grade level academics, in addition to helping students develop classroom readiness and executive functioning skills. With a strong focus on small ratios and meeting students where they are. Our goal is to help prepare younger students for their next steps in an academic-focused environment. The individual in this role will be hired for the 2026 - 2027 school year: approximate start date of mid-July 2026.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Education with either emphasis in Special Education or Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
  • 2+ years of teaching experience with individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Able to work in the US and not require Visa Sponsorship now or in the future

Nice To Haves

  • M.S. in Education with either emphasis in Special Education or Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
  • Florida State certification in teaching in appropriate subject area
  • Experience with ABA

Responsibilities

  • Creates daily lesson plans and supplemental learning activities for students based on national, local and school standards.
  • Differentiate lessons to give all students access to the curriculum regardless of ability, instructional level, or level of interest in the subject.
  • Establishes an effective classroom management system (i.e., routines, transitions, expectations, individual and/or group contingencies, etc.)
  • Implements curriculum content, including individual and group modifications, independently.
  • Coordinates additional curriculum resource needs with Lead Teacher.
  • Manages children who are assigned and ensure their safety.
  • Assist with the supervision and training of Assistant Teachers.
  • Assists with initial assessments of prospective students.
  • Delivers high quality, engaging instruction in the form of direct teaching, demonstrations, and independent practice.
  • Conducts group and individual teaching sessions for students as scheduled.
  • Actively participates in the development of IEP goals and programs for assigned students utilizing data from assessments, progress reporting and other methods to set individualized goals in assigned subject area(s).
  • Attends all IEP meetings as required.
  • Evaluates student performance on skills established by the standards through direct observation and daily data collection, as well as curriculum-based assessments.
  • Identifies acquisition deficits/barriers and develops strategies to remedy them.
  • Monitors acquisition and deceleration programs, and the attendant data.
  • Makes changes in acquisition and deceleration programs that are timely and linked to an assessment.
  • Completes all reports as required.
