About The Position

The Bethel School District is seeking teacher applicants who have the potential to be leaders and innovative educators. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to deliver instruction based upon best available research and practices in teaching and learning. If you are a current Bethel School District employee, you must complete an INTERNAL application. All other applicants, including current substitutes, must complete the standard application.

Requirements

  • Valid and appropriate certificate and endorsements for Washington State required.
  • Hold Career and Technical Education (CTE) Certification or be certifiable in any of these V-codes for Computer Science: V078000, V141000, V210100, V470110, or V521206
  • Must also hold Career and Technical Education (CTE) Certification or be certifiable in this for V-code: V600092 Career Choices
  • If not CTE certified the candidate must complete an approved CTE Plan 2 Business & Industry Route teacher preparation program.
  • Verification of 6,000 hours of occupational experience with computer software, spreadsheets, data bases, web page design, network management, computer repair, OR computer programming.
  • Meet requirements of Every Student Succeeds Act.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous successful teaching experience at grade level/subject preferred.
  • Understanding of Common Core State Standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to use a variety of instructional strategies and methods appropriate for student learning needs.
  • Problem solving abilities and critical thinking skills.
  • Be enthusiastic, flexible and have a commitment for students to reach high learning standards.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver instruction based upon best available research and practices in teaching and learning.
  • Implement programs which will lead to industry certification of students.
  • Develop and maintain effective classroom management.
  • Successfully employ effective teaching methods.
  • Work and communicate effectively with staff, students and parents from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Integrate technology with the curriculum.
  • Organize ideas, time and materials to accomplish goals.
  • Work collaboratively and plan with other staff members through Professional Learning Communities.
  • Continue to learn and pursue professional development.
  • Accept extracurricular assignments.
