About The Position

University Enterprises Corporation at CSUSB ("UEC") supports the university's educational mission by providing quality services that complement the instructional program. The University depends upon UEC to provide services that cannot be supported with state funds. We’re responsible for business enterprises on campus including, but not limited to, dining, bookstore, convenience store, and vending services. We also serve as the grantee for federal, state, and local funding for research and sponsored projects. This is a Temporary, Non-Exempt, Full Time, Benefited position through 6/30/2026 (Appointment may be renewed annually based upon availability of funds, availability of work and satisfactory job performance). Salary: $3,206.60 to 3,466.60 per month. Location: CSUSB Campus Children's Center.

Requirements

  • 24 units in Child Development/Early Childhood Education/Child, Adolescent, and Family Studies.
  • Knowledge of DAP and experience teaching in a preschool program.
  • Knowledge of Developmentally Appropriate Practices (DAP) and responsive caregiving.
  • Ability to lead and supervise others effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Friendly, helpful, and professional demeanor.
  • Reliable, dependable, punctual, and responsible.
  • Effective organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to safely lift and assist children as needed.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification (or the ability to obtain certification upon hire).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, sit and stand for extended periods of time, crouch or sit on floor to be eye level with children.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a NAEYC accredited program.
  • CTC Child Development Permit.
  • B.A in Child Development or related field.
  • Current enrollment in M.A. Child Development or related program.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Developmentally Appropriate Practices (DAP) role model, demonstrating effective teacher-child interactions and supporting the daily operations of a university-based early childhood education program.
  • Prepare and implement developmentally appropriate activities tailored to each child’s individual needs across key areas, including language, social-emotional development, creativity, science, cognitive growth, multicultural awareness, and physical and perceptual development.
  • Work collaboratively with children, staff, families, and university students.
  • Supervise and support undergraduate and graduate students, facilitate student observations, and participate in research and internship programs within the classroom setting.
  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with State guidelines, including child assessments and developmental evaluations.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, including conducting parent-teacher conferences, and contribute to a positive school-family partnership.
  • Ensure compliance with State licensing regulations and health and safety standards.
  • Assist in overall classroom and center supervision, and support program quality.
  • Float as needed to support preschool classrooms, provide staff coverage for breaks and lunches, and ensure continuity of care and instruction throughout the day.
  • Limited travel may be required for training, conferences and other professional development opportunities.
