The Teacher, Chemistry will help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible men and women. This role involves meeting and instructing assigned classes, planning a program of study that meets individual student needs, and creating a conducive learning environment. The teacher will prepare for classes, encourage students to maintain standards of classroom behavior, and guide the learning process towards curriculum goals. Various instructional techniques and media will be employed, consistent with the needs and capabilities of students. The teacher will strive to implement the district’s philosophy of education, assess student accomplishments, and provide progress reports. Diagnosing learning abilities and taking precautions to protect students and school property are also key functions. Maintaining accurate records, assisting with policy implementation, and making provisions for availability to students and parents are required. The role includes planning and supervising assignments for teacher aides and volunteers, striving to improve professional competence, attending staff meetings, and supporting district initiatives like CORE Literacy and WOW. This position is classified as a Teacher on Grade A-AAAA, employed for 187 days per school year, with an annual salary range of $43,721.56 – $77,230.54. This is an exempt overtime position.
