About The Position

The Level I Atrium Catechist serves the youngest children of All Saints Catholic School by helping lead a Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Level I Atrium for Preschool and Kindergarten students. This role is rooted in reverence for the child, love for Sacred Scripture and the liturgy, and a deep respect for the spiritual life already present in each child. The Atrium Catechist prepares and maintains a sacred, beautiful, ordered environment where children can encounter Jesus Christ, especially through the image of the Good Shepherd, the parables of the Kingdom, prayer, silence, Scripture, and the signs of the liturgy. This position requires two trained catechists working together to offer five sessions per day, two days per week, serving Preschool and Kindergarten classes throughout the school year. The mission of the Level I Atrium Catechist is to help young children fall in love with Jesus Christ and His Church by creating a prayerful environment where they can listen, wonder, work, and respond to God’s love. The catechist is not simply a teacher of religious facts, but a humble guide who helps the child encounter the Lord through Scripture, liturgy, silence, beauty, and hands-on sacred work.
