About The Position

Responsible for developing, planning, organizing, and implementing a modified instructional program to meet the needs of gifted students through curriculum, lesson plans, and educational programs, while ensuring that all procedures are followed to maintain safety and security and to meet federal, state, and local regulations. This position is for the 2026-2027 school year and is located at Thomas E. Weightman Middle School. It is a 196-day instructional position, full-time and benefit-eligible. For secondary education, this position may require teaching an additional period beyond the base contract, with additional compensation provided.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution OR Approval by or participation in a state-approved certification pathway program
  • Valid Florida gifted certification or endorsement, or will meet Department of Education (D.O.E.) certification requirements for out-of-field teachers
  • Valid Florida Educator’s Certificate or District-issued adjunct certification OR Valid statement of eligibility
  • Must pass Level II background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
