Assist the classroom teacher in providing instruction to the children in large groups, small groups and individually. Assist the classroom teacher in planning and preparing materials for daily instruction. Support teachers in managing classroom behavior. Attend to children who are upset or have had an accident. Implement strategies/techniques recommended by therapists. Maintain clean and safe indoor and outdoor learning environments. Change diapers, assist with toileting and handwashing. Assist in the classroom preparation for lunches and snacks. Help with special events. Maintain standards required by the Department of Human Services, NAEYC, and OSU. Assist classroom teacher with preparation of portfolios (classroom and child). Participate in professional development, required annual trainings and conferences. Perform other duties as assigned. This is a full-time position that will not have scheduled hours during the months of June and July, unless work is available. During the down time, you will be responsible for any voluntary benefits (i.e. medical, vision, dental, life, etc.), and those will be billed to your bursar account.
