Requirements

  • High School Diploma Required
  • References that can depict level of interest in working with children who have behavioral issues.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use personal computers and software utilized by office.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in conducting classroom activities, preparing instructional materials, providing instruction, review, and practice of skills taught by the Classroom Teacher with individual and small groups of students.
  • Assist in implementing treatment plan and individual education plan methods specific to each child.
  • Assume Classroom Teacher’s duties in his/her absence.
  • Assist with maintaining classroom and/or student records and documentation and contributes data for progress notes and individual treatment plans.
  • Nurture children through one-on-one communication and care and maintain vigilant supervision.
  • Reinforce instructional/behavioral objectives as needed to maintain an effective classroom learning environment.
  • Provide leadership in efforts to improve the school, student learning and behavior, social skills, and safety.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of students and their families.
  • Follow Agency and School Policies and Procedures.
  • Support of Agency Goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
