About The Position

Requirements

Exempt status
10 Months employment term
Assigned duties as directed by the classroom teacher
Good example in terms of dress, punctuality and attendance
Attend scheduled staff meetings
Proactive in matters relating to health and safety

Responsibilities

Assist in the educational and social development of students under the direction and guidance of the classroom teacher
Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
Assist classroom teachers
Discuss assigned duties with classroom teachers in order to coordinate instructional activities
Assist students with reading and math
Substitute in the classroom when classroom teacher is unavailable
Prepare lesson materials, bulletin board displays, exhibits, and equipment
Support class teachers in photocopying and other tasks in order to support teaching
Undertake other duties from time to time as the classroom teacher requests
Grade homework and tests as assigned by the teacher
Support the vision and mission of the school
Set a good example in terms of dress, punctuality and attendance
Attend scheduled staff meetings
Be proactive in matters relating to health and safety
Tutor and assist children individually or in small groups in order to help them master assignments and to reinforce learning concepts presented by teachers.
Supervises students in classrooms, halls, school grounds, or on field trips
