About The Position

Partnerships to Uplift Communities (PUC) Schools is comprised of a non-profit network of public charter schools designed to significantly increase high school graduation rates, college entrance, and college graduation rates for underserved students in North-East Los Angeles and the North-East San Fernando Valley. Our mission at PUC Schools is to develop and manage high-quality charter schools in densely populated urban communities with overcrowded and low-achieving schools. Requirements

• Possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred OR Must complete 12 semester units and/or 18 quarter units and be currently enrolled for the same units
• 1+ years of experience working with students in a learning environment preferred
• Proficient with Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

• Must be flexible and team-oriented
• Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred
• Strong work ethic, accountability, and ownership of work
• Regular attendance, dependability, and punctuality in conformance with the standards are essential to the successful performance of this position

Responsibilities

• Assist with: tests, homework, program reviews, reports, student files, schedules, and any other instructional program assignments
• Help teachers prepare lesson plans
• Work with smaller groups of students for remedial teaching or reinforcing the learning process
• Build strong relationships with students and parents
• Establish an environment where students are excited about learning and preparing for college
• Foster a safe and nurturing learning environment
• Build professional knowledge
• Perform other duties as assigned
