In a student employee capacity, this role will perform or assist with functions specific to academic support such as career coaching, tutoring, and supplemental instruction. The Teacher Assistant will evaluate and grade examinations, assignments, or papers and record grades, proctor exams, and develop teaching materials like syllabi, visual aids, answer keys, supplementary notes, or course websites. This position may also assist faculty members or staff in their field of research by gathering data, copying and distributing classroom materials, researching and developing educational or training material(s), and ensuring the confidentiality of all pertinent information. The role may also involve identifying and recommending educational and training needs, coordinating educational or training sessions, webinars, and workshops, and recommending and developing departmental processes and procedures. The Teacher Assistant will serve as a source to answer questions, provide information, and resolve concerns, while providing excellent customer service to internal and external partners. Additionally, the role may involve leading or presenting training or other educational topics, creating creative content for educational or training materials, and partnering with department leadership to align training initiatives with organizational goals. The position requires performing all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission, complying with University policies, and maintaining regular and punctual attendance.
