About The Position

MAHUBE-OTWA is hiring caring individuals with strong independent initiative and excellent attendance to work in their Mahnomen Early Head Start as a Teacher Assistant. The role involves education, laughter, art, stories, and making a difference in the lives of young children. The ideal candidate will have a passion for educating young minds and be available for full-time work.

Requirements

HS Diploma (or GED) plus Technical/Vocational certificate.
Must be willing to attain CDA.
Must be willing to earn a CDL.
Knowledge of early childhood development and developmentally appropriate practices for the classroom is essential.
Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence.
Basic math skills.
Ability to apply common sense solutions in standardized situations.
Must have the ability to work in a positive and cooperative manner with children, staff and parents.
Must effectively and professionally deal with typical and unexpected classroom situations.
Must honor private/confidential information.
Must have basic computer skills including working with e-mail, internet, data entry, computer files, databases and/or web-based programs.
Must have valid drivers’ license.
DHS Net Study clearance required.

Nice To Haves

CDA and 1 to 3 years working with low-income families and/or young children preferred.
Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
