About The Position

This role involves working hand-in-hand with the Teacher and related service staff, following their instructions and modeling. The Teacher Assistant will integrate input from the interdisciplinary team for instruction, behavior management, and language facilitation. They will assist the Teacher in all activities necessary to support student attainment of IEP goals, including daily program planning and physical environment organization. The position also includes performing all classroom and school-wide duties pertaining to organization, maintenance, and instruction, and participating as a classroom and interdisciplinary team member, as well as in other teams as determined by the Principal. Participation in relevant meetings and school functions is also expected. The Teacher Assistant will supervise the class when the Teacher must leave the room and comply with regulatory requirements and school policy. They will assist in maintaining appropriate documentation and submit all required paperwork in a timely fashion. Maintaining appropriate and effective interpersonal relationships with team and department members, parents, other staff, supervisors, administrators, and outside agencies is crucial. Demonstrating open communication, flexibility, and the ability to learn and utilize team building strategies, self-evaluation, utilization of supervision, and problem-solving skills are important. The ability to both offer and accept assistance to/from others is also expected. Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
