About The Position

As a Teacher Assistant with the Lincoln Intermediate Unit 12, this role plays an essential part in enhancing students' educational experience by supporting instruction, helping implement lesson plans, and fostering a positive learning environment. It also helps maintain continuity in the educational program established by the teacher. Through dedication to student success and close collaboration with the teaching team, this position contributes to a dynamic and supportive learning atmosphere.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must have or obtain and maintain a current certificate in First Aid and CPR
  • Must have or obtain and maintain current certificate in LIU-approved crisis management and intervention program
  • Must obtain additional competency as mandated by PA Dept. of Education (within one year from date of hire)
  • Must complete twenty (20) hours of professional development related to assignment each year
  • Patience, flexibility, and positive attitude
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with teachers and staff

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with students with multiple disabilities is preferred.
  • Relevant experience working with students in an educational setting (preferred)
