About The Position

Discovery Learning Center (DLC) at Parc Center for Disabilities is seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated Classroom Teacher for their inclusive preschool serving children ages 2 months to 5 years. This role focuses on nurturing each child’s social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development through engaging and developmentally appropriate learning experiences. The center emphasizes quality care, strong relationships, and meaningful instruction, with classrooms staffed based on children’s needs beyond minimum ratios.

Requirements

Formal early childhood education
45 clock hours, or will have within 30 days
Minimum 1 year of experience working with young children
Experience supporting children with disabilities in an educational or childcare setting
Valid Florida Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
Ability to meet physical demands of the role (standing, lifting up to 50 lbs., active supervision)
Level II Background Check required
Screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse

Responsibilities

Creating a welcoming, inclusive classroom environment where every child feels safe, supported, and valued
Planning and leading engaging lessons using the Creative Curriculum, including music, art, sensory play, and hands-on learning
Supporting children with diverse needs using positive behavior support strategies
Tracking developmental progress using Teaching Strategies Gold
Building strong partnerships with families through open communication and conferences
Maintaining accurate documentation and records to support individualized learning
Collaborating with fellow teachers, therapists, and leadership as part of a mission-driven team
Following Pinellas County Childcare Licensing Standards and all safety requirements
