About The Position

Requirements

Specialized Diploma CDA with 2 years experience or Associate’s Degree with 15 college credits in early childhood education, child development, elementary education, or early childhood special education.
3 years experience related to the care and development of children.
1 year experience with food service.
First Aid Certificate - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire

Nice To Haves

Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development/Family Studies, or Early Childhood Special Education.

Responsibilities

Orders, prepares, and distributes meals to classrooms.
Maintains allergy list.
Cleans, sanitizes, and organizes all service wear.
Assists with lesson planning and activities for children.
Supervises children on the playground.
Delivers and serves meals at assigned times.
Ensures carts are set up with appropriate items and food portions before meal service.
Notifies personnel in the hospital food service department about menu changes or issues.
Participates in food preparation and clean-up for special functions.
Provides additional servings of food for children.
Provides appropriate food items as per CACFP nutritional guidelines.
Provides children with food items they can serve themselves.
Reviews and updates classroom allergy lists monthly.
Serves and maintains food in a manner consistent with food safety requirements.
