About The Position

To provide instructional and technical assistance to meet the specialized needs of exceptional students.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet the requirements for the No Child Left Behind Act: a. Two (2) years of study at an institution of higher education; or b. Associate's or higher degree; or c. Knowledge and ability to assist in instruction in core subjects as verified by a rigorous state or local assessment.
• Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screening.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of teacher aide course, or 3 years related experience; or equivalent combination preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional and technical assistance to meet the specialized needs of exceptional students.
• Relate and communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents.

• Plan and/or implement instructional activities.

• Lift student if required by job assignment.
• Physically restrain in a crisis situation.
