About The Position

BAMSI has been “bringing people and services together” since 1975. Our Early Intervention Program supports infants, toddlers, and their families through compassionate, family-centered services that promote healthy growth and development. We work collaboratively with families and professionals to help children reach their fullest potential during the critical early years of life. As a Teacher Aide, you help create a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where young children can learn, grow, and develop. Your support allows therapists and families to focus on helping children build essential developmental skills during some of the most important years of their lives.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Ability to interact with children, families, and professionals with patience, flexibility, and compassion
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to observe children and maintain safety through adequate visual and auditory abilities
  • Ability to respond quickly during emergencies involving children
  • Ability to run, lift, or carry children if needed during emergency situations
  • Ability to stoop, squat, sit on the floor, bend, reach, stretch, and actively participate in play and child-focused activities
  • Ability to move quickly to assist children as needed throughout the day

Nice To Haves

  • Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
  • Experience working with children ages 0–3 with developmental delays preferred
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

  • Assist therapists during group activities and individual treatment sessions as needed
  • Support children’s participation in therapeutic and developmental activities
  • Help prepare materials, activities, art projects, and snacks for groups and sessions
  • Encourage a positive, engaging, and safe environment for children and families
  • Set up and clean up treatment rooms, group spaces, and activity areas
  • Ensure children safely transition on and off transportation vehicles
  • Help ensure children are clean, safe, and have all belongings for their return home
  • Assist with general housekeeping and clerical tasks as needed
  • Follow all agency and program policies and procedures
  • Maintain safety standards and utilize universal precautions as required
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for children, families, and staff
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor or designee
