About The Position

This is a temporary position within the Division of Youth Services (DYS), which provides a continuum of residential and non-residential services for youth in the juvenile justice system. The position supports the school assessment center in a secure treatment facility by performing data entry for educational program monitoring, including test results, assessment reports, classroom grades, student credits, and transcripts. The role involves inputting data into the state tracking system and maintaining organized spreadsheets and documentation.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree from an accredited institution in a field of study related to the work assignment.
  • Two (2) years of study at an accredited institution (equivalent to 48 semester hours) will substitute for the degree requirement.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics through a formal state or local academic assessment (e.g., ACT WorkKeys) will substitute for the degree requirement, but a high school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) is required if using this substitution.
  • Must possess a valid, unrestricted U.S. Driver's License.
  • Must be 21 years old or older.

Responsibilities

  • Proctor MAP tests, state-mandated tests, and GED tests for identified students.
  • Create and maintain a testing schedule.
  • Track and monitor tests, testing information, and results in a digital format.
  • Download reports from tests and various databases for assessment reports.
  • Enter testing data into spreadsheets, forms, and tools for multiple stakeholders.
  • Assist teachers and staff in creating a safe testing environment and giving tests orally as needed.
  • Follow up on required educational data collection.
  • Update and send monthly data sheets and MTSS information to the principal and DYS Education Director.
  • Monitor attendance and grades to report to the principal and DYS education director.
  • Work with State Teacher I's and the Principal to determine classroom support needs.
  • Sit with students to help with guided work or computer-based work.
  • Assist the special education coordinator with scheduling IEP meetings and sending out meeting notifications.
  • Assist with planning information for MDT's and monitoring the MDT calendar.
  • Inform the principal of testing commitments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
