About The Position

Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic School in Corpus Christi, Texas, is hiring a full-time Teacher Aide for Pre-K 3 and Pre-K 4 classes. This position is closely connected to and assists the Diocesan Bishop in the performance of his ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the church. As an integral part of the ministry for the Church, this position will support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic ministry and the mission of the Diocese of corpus Christi in both professional and personal life. Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic church. Continuously grows in the ministry by participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities as directed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read, write, and speak fluently in English
• Must be able to respond to the needs of children
• Non-Catholic teacher aides are required to have knowledge of the Catholic faith and support the goals of Catholic tradition in education
• Valid Texas Driver’s License
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Submit to employment required screenings including criminal history background check, drug screening, and motor vehicle record check
• Obtain certification in Safe Environment training provided by the Office of Safe Environment and Child and Family Resources
• Position requires adherence to diocesan policies and procedures

• Knowledge of child development, learning, and behavior preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to the teacher(s) as the instructional program necessitates
• Supervise individual students and small groups of students as learning activities are implemented
• Assist in preparing instructional materials and bulletin boards
• Able to use multimedia material and equipment to reinforce lesson presentations
• Perform clerical work as needed
• Supervise students during activities, as assigned by the teacher(s) or the Principal
• Plan instruction/activities together with the teacher(s)
• Attend in-services and workshops as directed by the Principal
• Performs other duties as directed by the teacher(s) and/or the Principal
