About The Position

The Dolores Dore Eccles Center for Early Care and Education includes five classrooms/programs: Infants, Toddlers, Junior Preschool, and Senior Preschool serving children from approximately 6 weeks through 6 years old. The primary assignment for the Teacher Aide II position will be with preschool aged children. The Center serves two primary purposes: To provide and maintain a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children in the context of establishing mutually supportive partnerships with families. To afford a meaningful learning experience for university students earning academic credit in early childhood education and other related disciplines through on-site teaching and mentoring. The Early Childhood Teacher Aide II is a full time 40 hour per week non-exempt position. The general work schedule is Monday through Friday with varying hours from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM and occasional evenings. It is expected that this position will work cooperatively and supportively with the assigned Lead Teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for young children. Candidates who advance to the interview stage should be aware that interviews are conducted by a hiring committee rather than a single interviewer. Hiring committees typically include program administrators, lead teachers, and volunteer parent representatives. This committee-based process helps ensure a fair, comprehensive, and balanced evaluation of each candidate. Additional details regarding the interview format will be provided to selected applicants.
