This is a non-exempt position responsible for conducting developmentally appropriate activities for children according to the Head Start Performance Standards (HS), Council on Accreditation (COA), and the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) guidelines. The role ensures compliance with all Performance Standards and Department of Children and Families (DCF) licensing, federal, state, and local laws. All documentation must be conducted in accordance with regulatory body requirements, including Catholic Charities Policies and Procedures, the HS contract, and the accreditation standards of the program. Catholic Charities reserves the right to transfer employees to any program throughout the agency based on operational needs. The incumbent demonstrates sensitivity to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and exhibits professionalism, organizational skills, and adherence to all safety practices. In the absence of the Teacher, the Teacher Aid assumes all responsibilities of the Teacher.
