DYS is statutorily mandated to confine felony offenders, ages 10-21, who have been adjudicated and committed by one of Ohio's 88 county juvenile courts. During their stay with DYS, youth are engaged in programming that is designed to address their criminological and behavioral needs. DYS reaches thousands of youth in facilities and those on parole. Cuyahoga Hills Juvenile Correctional Facility is seeking an ART TEACHER for Luther E. Ball High School.

Requirements

• Knowledge of education designed for arts & crafts of middle and high school students
• Ability to assess educational needs of students and develop individual plans, if necessary
• Current Teacher Certificate appropriate for arts & crafts & grade level to be assigned
• Teacher 3, 71123, must also have master's degree
• Job Skills: Education

Responsibilities

• Assesses educational needs of youth and develops lesson plans to include individualized assignments in arts & crafts
• Administers, scores and interprets exams and projects
• Maintains discipline and counsels students concerning their performance and/or behavior
• Attends meetings (daily morning, individual, pre-admission, discharge, parent conferences)
• Prepares required records and reports for grades
• Orders supplies and materials needed
• Attends all graduations ceremonies
• Establish a good rapport with students and staff members
