The Starbucks experience starts in our Plants where we have a dedicated team of professional roasters and supporting process teams including planning, warehouse management, packaging, roasting, maintenance, engineering and logistics. As a tea partner, you will be responsible for understanding and following established safety guidelines, programs and procedures, and actively working to prevent safety incidents. You will also support food safety, legality, and quality programs, and maintain product quality through adherence to good manufacturing practices, Food Safety Preventative Controls, product specifications, and quality procedures. This role involves monitoring and documenting quality measures using analytical tools, replenishing raw materials on automated and manual packaging equipment, and responding to stoppages on packaging equipment, including troubleshooting, jam clearing, and cleaning. You will perform changeovers on packaging equipment, assist the machine operator with changeovers and quality checks on packaging, and maintain packaging equipment and work area in accordance with maintenance and sanitation policies and standards. Additionally, you will utilize wrapping machines, pallet jacks, and other equipment to prepare pallets, identify and measure correct raw materials for tea blending, and convert units of measure from metric to English standard while accurately recording raw material usage. Performing quality checks, recording them in databases and manual forms, and checking ingredients for foreign materials are also key responsibilities. You will enter all quality deviations into the Production Deviation Report database (PDR), determine the type and quantity of flavoring oils for cycles, and demonstrate special handling and safety for hazardous oils. Conducting light preventative maintenance of blenders and secondary systems, recording production, creating lot numbers, and creating bag and pallet labels using Oracle Production Module are also part of the role. Safely operating material handling equipment, including electrically driven ones, and maintaining the oil room according to combustible material guidelines and MSDS are required. You will also conduct and record inventory cycle counts.
