About The Position

This role requires a high degree of knowledge, mechanical skill, and leadership to handle various aspects of the production process. The technician must possess excellent observation skills, manual dexterity, and maintain impeccable attendance, which will be scrutinized. Key responsibilities include ensuring good startups with minimal waste, meeting customer specifications through written and verbal instructions, and utilizing a high degree of attention and concentration to maintain product quality and consistency throughout all phases. The position demands strong mental competence for quick decision-making and problem-solving, as well as the ability to make necessary condition changes based on material properties and dimensions within the first 300 lbs. of extrusion. The technician will follow the production process from extrusion to packaging to ensure the highest quality and will verbally communicate with team members to prevent and correct quality-related issues. Basic reading, writing, and math skills are essential for setting temperatures, performing tooling calculations, adjusting speeds, and documenting information to ensure correct product processing and adherence to customer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Handle production processes with knowledge, mechanical skills, and leadership.
• Ensure good startup with as little waste as possible.
• Meet customer specifications according to written and verbal instructions.
• Maintain the quality and consistency of the product through constant attention and concentration.
• Make quick decisions and react to problems in a timely manner.
• Make necessary condition changes based on foam material properties and dimensions within the first 300 lbs. of extrusion.
• Follow the production process from extrusion to packaging to ensure the highest quality possible.
• Verbally communicate with team members to prevent and correct quality-related issues using company telephones, intercom system and/or two-way radio.
• Set temperatures, make tooling calculations, adjust speeds, and document all information to ensure the product is processed correctly and meets customer specifications.
