About The Position

Solink is seeking a Tax & Treasury Specialist to join their Finance team. This role focuses initially on tax compliance and planning, with a clear path to developing treasury responsibilities such as short-term cash forecasting and cash flow management. The ideal candidate will have strong tax fundamentals, a curious and adaptable mindset, and an eagerness to expand into treasury functions. The role involves close collaboration with the Director of Accounting and other finance teams, as well as external advisors. Given Solink's global operations and IFRS reporting, this position will address multi-jurisdictional tax matters, requiring proactive identification of tax risks, interpretation of legislation, and the development of risk-minimizing processes to support business growth.

  • CPA/CA in progress or completed.
  • 2-4 years of tax compliance experience.
  • No prior treasury experience required — we're looking for genuine interest in learning cash forecasting and treasury operations.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and picking up new processes; adaptable and curious by nature.
  • Comfortable using AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot) to support research, drafting, and analysis.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally with Accounting, FP&A, and Operations.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, able to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Candidates must undergo a criminal records check upon hire.
  • Be a Canadian Citizen (dual citizens included), or eligible to work in Canada.
  • Be willing to comply with Solink’s own security policies and standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Multi-jurisdictional tax exposure a plus but not required.
  • Genuine interest in learning cash forecasting and treasury operations.
  • Genuine interest in using AI tools to work more efficiently is a plus.

  • Exposure to IFRS reporting.
  • Experience in a SaaS, hardware, or hybrid hardware/software business.
  • Exposure to multi-entity or multi-currency environments.
  • Experience supporting external audits (financial statement and/or tax).
  • Experience supporting international tax compliance beyond Canada and the United States.
  • Global tax experience, including VAT and other indirect/direct taxes in international jurisdictions such as the EU.

Responsibilities

  • Use AI tools to accelerate tax law research, first-draft technical memos, and summarize regulatory updates.
  • Research and document tax positions on new products, contract structures, and cross-border transactions between entities.
  • Support tax planning opportunities as they arise (e.g., R&D tax credits, intercompany transfer pricing considerations, jurisdictional structuring).
  • Maintain the tax compliance calendar across all jurisdictions to ensure timely, accurate filings.
  • Help respond to tax notices and support tax audits.
  • Monitor changes in tax law across jurisdictions relevant to the business.
  • Act as a first point of contact for Sales, Procurement, and Operations on routine tax questions.
  • Review customer and vendor contracts to ensure appropriate tax treatment.
