About The Position

Jeff Baker & Associates, PS is seeking an experienced Tax Supervisor who is passionate about developing people, building strong client relationships, and delivering exceptional tax services. As a Tax Supervisor, you will lead complex tax engagements, mentor and develop staff, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients. You will work closely with firm leadership to ensure quality, efficiency, and exceptional client service while helping strengthen and grow our tax department. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex tax issues, coaching others, and taking ownership of client relationships from beginning to end.

Requirements

  • CPA or EA license required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of recent public accounting experience.
  • Experience reviewing work prepared by other accountants.
  • Strong knowledge of individual, partnership, S corporation, and corporate taxation.
  • Significant experience preparing and reviewing fiduciary income tax returns (Form 1041).
  • Experience with estate tax returns (Form 706) and Washington Estate Tax returns strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple client engagements while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Review complex individual, business, trust, and estate tax returns.
  • Manage tax engagements from planning through completion while ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Serve as the primary contact for a portfolio of tax clients.
  • Research complex federal and state tax issues and provide practical recommendations.
  • Mentor and develop staff accountants through technical guidance, coaching, and regular feedback.
  • Assist with workflow management and engagement scheduling throughout the year.
  • Collaborate with partners to improve firm processes and enhance the client experience.
  • Identify opportunities to provide additional value to clients through proactive planning and advisory services.
  • Participate in internal training and contribute to the continued development of the tax department.
